Add or remove the French reduced VAT rate of 5.5%. This page is explicitly about France; 5.5% is not a general English-speaking-market rate.
Gross = net × 1.055. Net = gross / 1.055. VAT = gross − net.
A €200 net amount gives €11 VAT and a €211 gross amount. Starting from €211 inclusive, divide by 1.055 to recover €200.
Whether a transaction qualifies for this French rate depends on the applicable tax rules. The calculator checks arithmetic, not eligibility. Use the editable VAT tool when another rate applies.
